Abri's small 20 seat restaurant specializes in French cuisine with a Japanese twist.  If you are fortunate enough to be in Paris on Saturday between the hours of 12-3 pm, order their delectable tonkatsu.  For 13 euros, you will be treated to a multilayer pork sandwich, a beverage and small desert such as a madeleine.

The sandwich itself is a beauty.  Stacked between two pieces of white toast is a thin mimolette cheese, a generous portion of deep fried pork cutlet, a spread of rustic dijon mustard,  a perfectly cooked veggie omelette, crunchy shredded purple cabbage and finally a drizzle of sweet and sour sauce.  "That is too many ingredients" you say?  You're wrong!  With all the layers complementing each other, it's a mix of sweet, sour and salty that achieve umami perfection.

Aside from their Katsu sandwich only available for lunch on Saturdays, they also serve a 4 course tasting menu for lunch on the other days and a 6 course for dinner.  Sources say reservations are needed many weeks in advance.
