Near the European district is a traditional Belgian restaurant called Le Chou Bruxelles. You can't help but notice the old hardwood floors, various pictures of old Brussels and paintings of the beloved singer, Jacques Brel. Although the dining area is quite small, it has a very cozy, neighborhood feel to it.
Le Chou serves all the classic dishes like carbonnade, sole meuniere and croquettes. All that aside, the thing to order is the national dish, moules-frites or mussels and fries. Typically the mussels are cooked with white wine, shallots, parsley and butter. But you can also order variations of broth with basil or saffron cream. Whatever you choose, the mussels are always accompanied with crispy fries. And believe us, there is nothing like soaking up delicious broth with Belgian fries.
